welcome the alt job board!
we seek to feature jobs that support non-profits, exist inside creative spaces, advocate for progressive politics, and upgrade our understanding of what having a job even means.
really these jobs are more than just jobs ✩ they’re inspiration.
we hope the words in this newsletter, from the job descriptions to the organization names and their taglines, will help you uncover new ways to see your own role in our collective evolution.
how to use
each job listing will use the following format ↓
🌈 alternative job title @ alternative organization name
alternative organization description
☆ Location: somewhere on planet earth
☆ Apply: link
☆ Deadline: date
you can usually find more about each role, like the date it was posted, the role requirements, the start date, benefits, etc at the application link provided.
you’ll likely come across a job that you think a job is cool, but maybe not for you. our advice?
don’t gatekeep. the role could inspire someone in your extended network, or someone you don’t even know. consider sharing with a friend or on your socials to ignite the idea of possibility in someone else.
take a moment to reflect on the ping you’re receiving from that job title, the organization’s mission, or the type of work involved. what is it that draws you to it even if it’s not something you want to pursue?

we are not affiliated with any companies listed in this newsletter unless explicitly stated. we do our best to accurately reflect the orgs, jobs, and processes for applying. we don’t influence hiring decisions, and while we prioritize sharing roles that appear alternative, we encourage you to do your own research when applying, as internal culture is not always visible from the outside. please visit and read the entire application page for the role you’re interest in before applying as certain jobs have specific requirements that we do not list.
